How it began...

At the end of 1999, Ping and I started looking for a Siberian Husky to be our family pet and companion. After researching the breed, we used the Siberian Husky Club of America (SHCA) list of breeders and started calling breeders in our area. After talking with a number of breeders we were directed to MaryAnn and Greg Palmer of Artika Siberians. After meeting their dogs and seeing what wonderful temperaments all their dogs had, we decided to wait until they had a litter available. On January 28, 2000, Ch. Artika's Nadianna, "Nadia," whelped a litter of seven gray puppies - four boys and three girls. I had always been interested in dog shows and showing, but I didn't know how to get started. After talking with MaryAnn and Greg, we asked them to mentor us and teach us how to show dogs. From that litter they let us have a male show prospect who we called "Denali." With a lot of help from the Palmers and many other Siberian fanciers, "Denali" became Ch. Artika's Shadow Of Denali, with all his wins owner-handled, including three four-point majors.

When "Denali" was a puppy we added a rescue named "Kara" to our lives. She was around nine years old and due to her owner's death she needed a new home. I fell n love with Kara after reading her story on Sibernet and shortly thereafter she was added to our family. She lived with us for three wonderful years until we had to help her over the Rainbow Bridge. Later on we added "Shiloh," "Denali's" brother to our pack and then "Arwen" and "Lindy"...as they say, the rest is history!

In the years following, we added a larger car to hold the dogs and moved to a house with acreage. Because of the dogs, we have made close friends who have become like family. Our lives have changed for the better due to the love and companionship of our dogs.
